Odori is a Shinto dance ritual where the performer becomes a God. A woman is physically pulled from her claustrophobic reality into a dark, mythic landscape, where she fractures into multiple, battling versions of herself. With echoes of 80's Japanese horror and spiritual folklore
Odori is a meditation on ritual, identity and the fight between multiple personas within us. Odori is inspired by Japanese dancer Ichi-Go, who reinterpretation of the ancient dance ritual Kagura in a a contemporary way.

Working closely with the client, we refined a design language that is adaptable yet precise. Typography, color, and layout were developed to reflect both the practical and expressive qualities of the brand. Each element was tested across different formats to ensure consistency, from social platforms to editorial applications. The result is a system that communicates clearly while maintaining a distinct and recognizable character.

Odori is a hybrid film: real choreography captured with motion control, shot on green screen with realtime environments run by Unreal Engine. Then the film is completely reimagined with generative AI. The aesthetic blends filmed performance with a hand-drawn, 35mm stop-motion look.
